group Values

Group Overview

The Kozlowski group strives to create a positive workplace environment both professionally and personally. We believe excellence is independent of background and thus creating a diverse community of scholars is essential for the generation and sharing of new ideas, both academically and at large. As a group, we respect and embrace differences in gender identity, ability, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, economic status, family status, religious/cultural background, and the many other aspects of personal identity that comprise an individual. We uphold the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion as they relate to both research and the ecosystem of our department. Further, we strive to be active bystanders in the face of misconduct. We acknowledge the many routes, implicit or explicit, by which bias/misconduct may be introduced into the work environment and actively work to correct them. With these values in mind, we hold that our research demands excellence in education and person.

For more information on implicit bias and how they affect your personal action, consider taking one of many implicit biases tests that can be found online.
